A call to you…

admin October 14th, 2007

While one of the most faithful and loyal people I’ve met, Sheyn has always been very approachable. I’ve never heard him described as “holier than thou” or other words used to tear down people who have faith in something higher than themselves. I seldom got into a conversation of any length with Sheyn without the topic eventually winding around to Jesus, and so in that spirit I invite you to review or renew this message for yourself:

Step up to Life!

One Response to “A call to you…”

I have been leaving comments on Sheyns legacy.com guestbook and they are not being shown, i don’t know what is happening so, i will leave some comments here.
I thought it appropriate to relate something appropriate to what our family has been going through with our loss recently of our brother:
“For a while after a tragedy of this kind, there is almost nothing we can say that is helpful. We have the words we need, drawn from our faith: ‘They are with God!”, We believe in the resurrection, We will meet them again someday!’ Those words eventually will bring the consolation they contain, but at first, after a tragedy, they don’t carry their full power, not because they are not true, but because, like a seed, they need time to take root and grow. I like the words that Rainier Marie Rilke sent to a friend who was beside himself with grief: ‘Give that heaviness back to the earth, the seas are heavy, the mountains are heavy, the earth is heavy.’
When we are in the middle of a storm we should’t pretend that the sun is shining or, indeed, that there is anything we can do to stop the storm. The task is to wait it out, together, hand in hand, offering each the assurance that we aren’t alone”–Excerpted from “The Catholic Voice” Nov. 16, 2007
